Handsprings wins Viewers Choice Award at the Chicagoland High School Film Festival.

Last night as I sat in the auditorium watching each of the films presented, I found parts of each film that impressed me. I know the amount of work that goes into making even the shortest of films; so I felt a connection to each person that submitted a work.

I am very happy that "Handsprings" won the viewers choice award at the Chicagoland High School Film Festival. I credit my cast and friends Riley NelsonErika K. Marks and Meursault Poiccard! Whatever short comings my film might have had, the acting was "Spot-on," and was the reason the film worked.

2012 Chicagoland High School Film Festival

"Yay! "Robin and Her Wolf"  was officially accepted as a finalist to the Chicagoland High School Film Festival. The film will be shown along with several other works by fellow student filmmakers from all accross Chicago and suburbs. I was fortunate to have been selected last year as well; and I must say I was impressed by the quality of films produced by each of the finalists.
To the cast  and all thouse that helped make Robin & her Wolf come together, 'Congrats guys! Its because of you all that this movie is a success"
The Chicagoland High School Film Festival, gives high School students an unique opportunity to enter and show the films they have worked so hard to create. True there are Children’s film festivals, but since those events are geared toward films who’s language and content are appropriate to be viewed by young children, this event allows young film makers to exhibit works that are relevant to the issues and interests of teen filmmakers.

Chicago High School Film Fest

OK, granted it's a far cry from Cannes Film Festival.
No Bob and Harvey Weinstein are not going to be in the audience looking
for the next film for Miramax to distribute. But that does not stop me from being a proud father and being happy to see that Lane's newest film made the finals.

Is the actual name for the larger film that is still in production.
He still has additional footage to be shot, followed by a long process of voice overs, color correction, Sound editing, cutting and even CG effects.

What he submitted was in truth a segment of his larger work. The complete film would greatly exceed the 10 Minute time limit, and there is some language and subject matter that would not "Clear the censors" at an event for Chicagoland High Schools.
